I am really enjoying the excitement of food, as I always have, but now the food actually looks like food instead of mush. Dinner with the rents every night is really nice, and I get to try so many new things. So far, french fries and popsicles are winning. Dad let me have a strawberry popsicle after dinner the other night, and I just could not suck fast enough. It was delicious...and really cold! I'm not quite sure why such a delectable food has to turn my lips red and make them numb, but I'll take it. Meal time has become very messy, especially since it is so much fun to rub food across the high chair and through my hair. Mom has decided that the easiest way to clean me off is to just carry me to the kitchen sink and rinse me down. I smile so big every time she picks me up from the high chair and holds me way out in front so that I do not get food on her; I don't know why I think this is so hilarious; it just is. It's also fun to sit on the counter because I get to try and grab all of the stuff that I don't normally have access to. Must touch everything...
On Tuesday, Grandma Purnell came over for dinner. I was so excited to see her; I mean during the week, nonetheless. After dinner, Grandma gave me a bath, with bubbles! Then we just hung around until bedtime. It was a lovely surprise. She spoils me rotten, which is the way it should be! She's a very smart woman. I wish I could have seen Aunt Stephanie because I love her this much (I'm holding my arms as far out as I can right now).
I learned to drink out of a straw yesterday; all it took was a non-watered down juice box. Now, I can drink out of my new sippy cup that has a straw without any help. I can't get enough! Mom actually had to have a talk with me about not drinking and driving after my concentration on juice caused me to run into a door. So much to learn...
To go along with my wild driving, I got my first fohawk in the bath last night. I'm a born rock star; I mean look how good the fohawk looks on me. In fact, I am already practicing for stardom; yesterday, I waved and smiled at the lifeguard until she took notice and smiled back. She better notice the cutest baby in the pool. Jeesh!
I am now ready for my wild weekend - party, pool, friends, fireworks, and FOOD. Bring it on! Have a wonderful Independence Day!
