Lazy Summer Days

This weekend was a very lazy weekend, and it was awesome! I could definitely get used to this whole summer deal. Mrs. Teri spent the weekend with us since Mr. Justin was playing in the final four Rugby tournament in Colorado. She's a really good playmate, except when she let me fall over, for which I totally forgive her even if Dad plans on bringing it up for the next ten years - sorry, Teri. Dad, Mom, Mrs. Teri, Opie and I took a walk around the neighborhood on Saturday morning, which is a much welcomed new part of our routine, especially for Opie. On Saturday afternoon, we went to the pool, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite past times. Grandma came and went with us; I love seeing Grandma! I was also excited that Mrs. Joanne and Parker met us down at the pool and played for awhile. It was Parker's first time in the pool; I tried to show her the ropes, but she seemed pretty unsure about the whole thing. She didn't cry though, so I know
that she is going to become a great pool partner. After the pool, I had to get a bath to get all of the sun and pool goop off of me - pool or bath, the water is fun either way. My bath duck even serenaded me with a little "Splish, Splash" action. I didn't know it at the time, but that was my last bath in my little green tub; today, I got to take a bath in the big tub! It was awesome, and I even got a new boat and fishies to commemorate the occasion. I was able to save a little time on Saturday to play with the Laugh and Learn House that Grandma Purnell got me for Christmas. I didn't like when Mom put the house together on Saturday morning; oh, the noise was terrible, but when all was said and done, it was totally worth it. The door opens and shuts; there is a mailbox with tasty postcards; I can put raindrops down the rain spout; when I ring the doorbell, the outside light comes on; I can change the time and the house number, and the whole time the house talks to me and plays music. Too cool! Sunday was another relaxing day; after Dad finished playing golf with Russell, we went down to the pool for a bit, and I laughed hysterically at these boys playing with water guns and a Nerf ball. I can't wait until I can get in on the action! Relaxing summer days have just begun, and I could not be more excited! Opie is really excited too; he has been running around being crazy for the last week, and I think everything he does is so funny right now!

On a side note, chicken is terrible! The only way that I will eat it is if it is mixed with sweet potatoes and cinnamon - not a good start for meats. Maybe I was born to be a vegetarian. Mom is a very good cook and "pureer", but chicken is just yucky. In fact, I made myself throw up a little when I first tried it, and I am not being a drama queen; it was that bad! Mom did make up for it though with her banana, kiwi, peach concoction and the sweet potato casserole that she made for me. My favorites right now are apricot/pear, sweet potatoes, bagels, wheat "cookies", and peach yogurt; even though, I hated yogurt at first. I have a finicky palate! Well, goodnight, I must get some sleep for the very busy week ahead of me.
